aza Bridal week store review

pic courtesy: google images (Next time original pics promised!!)
It’s one of those stores I always wanted to go but I am not one of those who will just walk-in to a store without an intention to buy. But, as soon as we decided to start looking for the bridal wear, I first headed to aza in Juhu. As I mentioned in this post about Wedding Sales, aza had the bridal week going on from 12th - 14th July 2012. aza is a 2 level store. I found level 0 to be a little more expensive than the level 1.

What I found on their racks:
  • Sarees (Bridal, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride/Groom, etc)
  • Bridal Lehengas
  • Sangeet/Engagement Lehengas
  • Anarkalis
  • Heavy Salwar suits
  • Indo-western gowns
  • Shoes
  • Clutches
  • Jewelry
What I liked about the store:
There is so much to choose from!! The store is huge and was screaming wedding out of every corner. The lights, the colour, the orra of the store, I loved everything. I got my feel-special-as-a-bride feeling just by visiting this store. The SA's are courteous. The biggest plus point is that they let you breathe - I never knew I was being observed by somebody the whole time. Although when I had questions somebody was right there next to me to help me out!! I must mention the collection of Anarkalis were nice and different than usual.

What I dint like about the store:
ITS TOO EXPENSIVE (for me)!! Yes I know it is supposed to be expensive as it’s one of those stores which display couture from some of the best known designers in the industry. But I refuse to pay 40K for a dull plain Mango coloured lehenga without any work. It's just not worth it! Also, although I was smitten by the store (may be coz that was the first time I was shopping for my wedding) I dint fell in love with any of the stuff. A wedding fanatic like me who dint do awww even once. Now how is this possible? I liked some lehenga’s that ranged about 1.5L but as I said in-spite of the hefty price these were not the kind of lehenga’s you fall in love with (even before knowing the price!).

Things to remember:
  •  Visit the store. You will get some brilliant ideas to implement on your DIY budget lehenga – Plenty of colour combinations ideas for eg!
  • Do not check the price tag first. Only ask for prices of the stuff you love. I shall write a post on Smart Sale Shopping very soon.

  1. Thanks a lot!! The review ws perfect n very useful.. I am also a bride to be and wondering wher to look for my wedding saree and many wedding blogs where they have this real brides or bridal files section keep talking about lehenga purchase from Aza for 1.5Lac and they post pictures of themselves in those..but nothing too great about them.. but reading your post I realllly heaved a sigh of relief that therez someone like me who refuses to pay 40k for a dull plain Lehenga or Saree.. ;-)But I would really love to know where to shop for sarees in Mumbai for wedding reception event.. My reception is a smallish two hour afternoon event so I am not so keen in indulging in a super expensive saree.. pls help!!

    1. Thank you so much Snehu! :) I am now back from my brothers wedding and will do a post on wedding shopping in Mumbai very soon. What kind of saree are you looking for the reception? Heavy embroidered or rich silk?
