Store Review: Tathastu Pune

In my post on Wedding shopping in Pune, I promised to write a store review on Tathastu. So here it is:
It is one of the well acclaimed wedding shopping stores in Pune. That is why it was next after Kasat Exclusive store on our list. We were in Pune only for a day and had already spent 4 hours in Kasat. I was still in search of my main yellow saree which is supposed to be worn during pheras! We straight headed up on the top floor to get to business.
What I found on their racks:
We checked for yellow saree and designer silk sarees. Although it had almost everything a good saree store must have.

I was sure I dint want to buy typical Paithani /Orrissa /Benarasi /Kanjeevaram. I wanted a traditional look yet wanted people to think over what make the saree is. I found few such different sarees in Kasat but either the shade was unflattering or silk dint show up looking rich. I only liked one yellow saree there.
In Tathastu, I didn’t come across such different sarees. They were all nice, with their silk shining classy but nothing different. I must appreciate, that they showed us a variety of sarees in yellow (Never seen so many in Mumbai). Those brides who want to stick to the traditional Maharashtrain paithanis/ silk saris must surely visit this store. I saw so many sarees that I started feeling I am never gonna find a perfect one and my idea of a yellow saree is something unreal! I almost started to settle down on one saree which was good but then was a typical yellow silk saree with a pink border and zari work. But my MIL could sense that I am not too happy with it. She told me that I can take as much as time I want coz this is the most important saree in a girl’s life. I was relieved.
We also wanted to buy a saree for my MIL and mom. Again we went through another heap of sarees but nothing clicked. Although I want to mention that there was nothing terribly wrong with any of the sarees we saw. The Salesman was nice and cooperative. May be it was the lighting or ambience. I dint see any major price difference from the other stores I visited that day.
While we were leaving without buying anything, the store head showed so much concern and wanted us to see the collection again. I really appreciate the gesture and that showed how the staff was genuinely involved in customer satisfaction.
It would be unfair if I do not mention that I have always heard good reviews of the store. Its just that I didnt find what I was looking for!
PS: I visited the store in 2012. Although the post was drafted during the time of visit.
